Gal-Com

Gal-Com is a Star Wars themed Persistent Browser-Based Game, playable in any web browser. Members play as characters within a persistent Star Wars galaxy, and can interact with that galaxy and each other in a wide range of ways. It is free to play, and does not require any downloads or special plugins. For optimum browsing we recomend Internet Explorer 7+ with a minimum resolution of 1024x768.

Much of the game focuses on factions (also known as affiliations) - groups such as the Galactic Republic, the Jedi Order, and the Mandalorian Clans. Every character must join a faction, and will work alongside other members of that faction towards common goals. The ultimate goal for each faction is to be the largest - which naturally leads to plenty of opportunity for conflict with the members of other factions. With the recent addition of the Galactic Senate, factions can compete not only for military dominance but political power, for with control of the Senate comes a degree of control over its members.

Easily the most common part of the game, missions allow your character to attempt a variety of tasks in their current location. Depending on your characters environment, they will be able to attempt things such as constructing new buildings, rallying diplomatic support, or even engaging in industrial sabotage against a rival faction. The missions available to your character will change from location to location, with some missions only available from within key buildings - by exploring, you never know what you'll find!

Whatever the mission, your chance for success will be determined by two key skills and a difficulty based on planetary factors. If you're looking to get better at a particular mission, take note of the skills that increase after you attempt it - these are the key skills for the mission, and are used to determine your Skill Pool.
